Studio 5

So a couple weeks ago my sister Tracy gave me a call.  She had gotten tickets to the live taping of Studio 5!  Of course I said I would go.

We had a lot of fun together and it was really interesting to see how they do everything first hand, like during commercials and such.

Becky Higgin's back. (we were on the wrong side of the audience for that segment )

It was really a lot of fun!  Thanks Tracy for taking me along!

First you must take a really deep breath

Thank You Isabella!

Paul is a Graduate!!

On Saturday Paul Graduated from College!  He graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Bachelors in Science of Business Management.  We went back and forth on whether he was going to walk or not and last minute (seriously last minute - deadline was Friday and we decided Thursday) we decided it would be a good thing for the kids to see.  Plus I needed to scrapbook it!  The ceremony was really long with over 600 names read, but I am so glad he did it.

After the ceremony we held a big luncheon where lots of family came to show their support for Paul.

It was a great day and I am so thankful for all of the support from family and friends.

But I am most excited to get my husband back!!!

The 13 Articles of Motherhood

So my dear sweet hubby had to talk today in sacrament meeting.  His brother had to give a talk several years ago on the same subject as Mothers and passed this on to him that he had written.  I thought it was very clever and so I wanted to share it will all of you as well.

The 13 Articles of Motherhood

We believe in the importance of Motherhood; that it is a sacred trust given us of God, and of His Son Jesus Christ, and of the Holy Ghost.

We believe that a mother should punish her child for their own sins and not the brother or sister who got blamed for it.

We believe that through motherhood our households may be blessed; by obedience to the laws and rules that mom sets forth.

We believe that the principles of Motherhood are: First faith in ourselves and our calling as a mother, second Patience and Long Suffering, third Understanding, fourth Love.

We believe that a mother is called of God and that she accomplishes this great task by the laying on of hands & hard work. (We also believe that as fathers and children when we push our luck mom believes in laying on of hands & rolling pins etc.)

We believe in the same “Old Fashioned” values of motherhood that existed in times past, namely nurturing, teaching, sacrificing, and spending time raising children in righteousness.

We believe that mothers have the gifts of understanding, inspiration, revelation, resourcefulness, healing and interpretation of tongues. (They actually can understand what a toddler and a teenager is trying to say).

We believe what our mothers say is law but usually we don’t translate it correctly, we also believe what dad says is law especially if mom says NO!

We believe that we should appreciate all that our mothers and grandmothers have done for us, all that they do for us now, and all that they will do for us pertaining to our temporal and spiritual welfare.

We believe that mothers are busy in the literal gathering and cleaning of dirty laundry and dishes and the restoration of the cleanliness of our house. We need to lend a helping hand so that our homes can receive their much needed paradisaical glory.

We believe that mothers can claim the privilege of serving others even when weariness and exhaustion dictate they should take a nap, they serve us in many ways, many places, and all of the time.

We believe in the importance of mothers subjecting us to laughter, silliness, excitement, fun, humor, happiness, and good will.

We believe mothers are honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and they do so much good for all of us: indeed, we may say that mothers follow the admonition of Paul – they believe all things, they hope all things, they have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anyone virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we call her Mother!!

I hope you all have a great Mother's Day!!!
