First Day of School

Last Monday was the first Day of school for Cameron, Morgan and Allison.

Cameron is in the 4th

Morgan is in the 3rd

And Allie is in the 2nd

All of the kids were very excited to start school.  They were all very excited about the teachers that they got and were thrilled to see all of their friends again.

I always loved the first day of school.  Something about that smell of new pencils, backpacks and clothes.

Allie's Turn!

So our family rule is that you have to be 8 to get your ears pierced but over the weekend we made a small adjustment to that rule.  The rule is that if you want mom & dad to pay for it you have to be 8 but if you save your own money you can get them pierced when you want.  Well Allie had saved all of her birthday money and chore money and had more then enough to pay for it herself.  So after a  little persuasion from dad I gave in.  I asked Morgan if she would mind if Allie didn't wait until she was 8 and she exclaimed, "Let her pierce her ears so we can share earrings!".  So while Grandma Adams, Uncle Mike and Aunt Amanda were staying with us we finally took her to get her ears pierced.  I was a little nervous and couldn't quite decide if we made the right decision but there was no way she was gonna let me go back on it now.

Here are her cute little girl ears

She was a little nervous so she wanted a hand to hold but I had to be the photographer

So Dad's hand worked just as well

Marking just the right spot

And CLICK

She did say that it didn't hurt that bad and never dropped a single tear.  She was so excited to finally get her ears pierced.

Here are her beautiful grown-up ears and of course a smile that stretched between the two.

Caydee & Alex

My oldest niece on my husbands side got married on the 13th of August.

I have to say they are just the cutest couple (besides Paul and I that is).

After the temple ceremony they had a dinner at the church right behind the temple.  It was a very fun evening.  After the dinner we all got to blow horns and bubbles as they left.

The next night was their reception.  I can't believe what they did with the church gym.  It was gorgeous and I wish I had gotten a picture.

At the close of the night they cut the cake and Caydee through the bouquet.  And guess what!  Morgan caught the bouquet!  Morgan was thrilled!

All I have to say is it better be a long time before she is a bride.  So if she is the next to get married I hope the rest of the girls in the family are prepared to wait 20 more years till they can get married!

Feeling Crafty

So the other day I started cleaning out my fridge.  My fridge is filthy dirty and this is something that I have been putting off for far too long.  Well on my top shelf was a GIGANTIC pickle jar (we have a pickle monster in our presence, who would eat a pickle with any and every meal if we would allow it).  Now this huge pickle jar was about half full of pickle juice (which all of my kids like to drink - eeeeeew!) and 2 small little pickles floating around the bottom of the jar.  So I thought I would make my pickle monster's day and give her the remaining pickles and get this huge jar out of my fridge.  But once the jar was empty I started looking at the jar and thought it was a really cool jar.  The gears in my brain started turning and in about 15 minutes this is what I ended up with

I really like how my little candy jar turned out.  We had been to a couple parades in the last week and we had lots of candy that was being stored in ugly grocery bags.  I really like how the jar looks sitting on my counter.  It is very simple but cute.  Now if I could just stop eating the candy!

Oh, and here it is not quite a week later and I still have not finished cleaning my fridge.   Hmmm I wonder what I could do with a mustard bottle!

Liza is 5!

Summer is almost over and boy have we been busy!

My sweet little baby girl Liza turned 5 on the 9th of August. What!? 5? Although I am excited as any mother with school aged children for school to start. I still can't believe that ALL of my kids will be in school this year. I hope that doesn't mean that I am getting old. No, of course it couldn't.

ANYWAYS, back to Liza.

This year we just did a small family party.  I don't think Liza minded as long as she got presents

a Birthday Cake

and of course the tunnel of Birthday Spankins!

I hope Liza had a great day.  She did tell me that since she was now 5 she felt like an adult, but no matter how old she is she will always be my baby.

My Dear Grandma Reed

My Grandma Reed ( My Mom's Mom) passed away on August 7, 2010.  I can't help but remember all of the trips to Grandma's house when I was younger and playing pool in her basement and legos on her living room floor.

I will miss you very much Grandma.  I love you and know that your are in the loving arms of your husband Grandpa Bud.

Allie's Birthday

On Allie's birthday we all decided that we needed to go have some fun.  So all of the families packed up and we headed out to the lake.

Everyone enjoyed the water.  It was a beautiful day and the water was really nice.

Allie enjoyed making soup.

And the boys worked on digging their own swimming pool.

Then the girls decided that they were gonna build a bigger and deeper one.

Here I am in the girl's pool.  They did pretty good!

After the lake we all went back to Grandma's house tired and sunburned.  But of course Allie didn't forget that it was her birthday and we still needed to do presents, cake and ice cream.

This of course was the highlight to Allie's day.  She loved having all attention on her.

And she didn't make out too bad either!

Doggy Sitting

The last month we had what seemed like a boarding house around here.  I have loved it but I can't say the same for my sweet hubby.

First was Sophie whose parents are our good friends Josh & Ashley.  Sadly I don't have any pictures of her.  She is a cute sassy little poodle that is easy to get a long with if you are human.  But if you are a dog just know that her way is the only right way.  My two puppies didn't really like it when she pushed herself onto ours laps but decided it wasn't worth the fight.

About a week later we had Gracie who is a beautiful golden retriever.  Her Mommy is my sister Carla.  I was so excited to have a big dog and Paul was a little nervous.  Gracie is the best behaved dog and I even threatened my sister that I might not be home when she came to pick her up so I could keep her a little longer.  Although my sister brought about 15lbs of food for one week and my TWO little doggies go through that in about a month so I don't think I could afford to feed Gracie on a full time basis.

This is Gidget.  Gracie and Gidget even overlapped a day so there was one day that I had 6 dogs in my house!  Why 6?  Becuase Gidget has these..
Aren't they cute?!  Gidget has 2 puppies!  I have to say I was the most excited about this group.  How can you not fall in love with cute little cuddly puppies.  Plus these 2 were no were no work at all cuz there mommy took complete care of them.

The first week that we didn't have any visitor puppies our doggies ended up staying with Josh and Ashley for a week while we were out of town.  So our 2 doggies are completely thrown out of their schedule and don't know what is going on.  I am glad we are finally back to the norm but if anyone needs a doggy sitter just give me a call!
