Snow & Hot Chocolate

On Wednesday morning I climbed out of bed, and opened the front door to let the dogs out and there was white stuff everywhere! Now it had snowed on Monday but nothing really stuck.  I hope it is the same with this snowfall.  IT ISN'T EVEN HALLOWEEN YET!

By the time I got up Cam and Morgan had already eaten breakfast, gotten dressed for school and were getting their heavy coats on so they could go out and shovel the walks.

I hope their enthusiasm doesn't change - especially when it is February and it has snowed for the hundredth time.  They even asked if they could shovel our elderly neighbor's walk (that was my proud moment of the day!)

I guess this means it is time to put all bikes and scooters away for the winter.  :(

Right before it was time to leave for school I made some nice hot chocolate.  Now my children LOVE hot chocolate and lately have been begging for it every morning.  But why in the world would you bed for hot chocolate if you are jsut going to do this...

That's right.  That is an ice cube floating in the hot chocolate.  Now it would be one thing if I boiled the water for the hot chocolate.  But I do not make it that hot plus I add cold milk to make sure it isn't too hot.  I would call it warm-cool chocolate.  Ah well, silly kids!

Quilting

This last week my ward had a quilting service activity. I haven't quilted since I lived at home but it was really a lot of fun!

I love the pictures of the guys quilting.  They all did a really good job!

We got 2 quilts done in just about an hour.  It was a a fun night.

Camping

At the beginning of the month we went camping with some other Adams' that we know.  Paul's brother David and his family and Paul's Mom.  We are a family that loves to camp and try to go as often as we can.  So this weekend away was a lot of fun!  Of course I brought my camera along and these are a just a couple of the pictures I took.

My Kiddos

For the longest time I have been wanting to take all of my kids out and do a little photo shoot.  I was a little nervous because I never have thought that I have "photo skillz" but still wanted to see what I could do.  So on this long UEA weekend I got my kids out of bed at 7:30 (yeah I know, a weekday to sleep in and I blew it!) and found a field to take some pictures.  I am actually very pleased at how they turned out.  I want to print some off to hang in my "office" at work but now I can't decide which ones I like best.  Maybe my "skillz" aren't too shabby after all.

Woman's Conference

A couple weeks ago I had an experience of a lifetime.  I was chosen as 1 of the 10 from our ward to get to sing at the General Relief Society Meeting.  Getting to sit where the Mormon Tabernacle Choir sits was amazing and was something that I had always dreamed about but never thought it would happen.  The meeting was wonderful and I felt the spirit so strong.  I am actually very sad that our weeks of practices are over.  I grew very close to all the sisters in the choir and I know that my testimony grew tremendously.
