Easter Sunday

I am going to start with the dying of the eater eggs.  Dying the eggs is half the fun!

Since our church isn't until 1 we did Easter in the morning.  The kids got to go a hunt around the living room looking for their baskets and candy filled eggs.

Any under here?

Then after all the eggs were found and we had lots and lots of sugar in our system it was time to start getting ready for church.  This was the big task of the day.  I thought it would be fun to do everyone's hair.  It was a good thing we go to afternoon church because all of the hair took a long time.  But it was worth it!

Here are the divas.... I mean girls.  I actually sewed these skirts myself.  I was pretty proud of myself if I do say so!

An d the whole gang.  Poor Cam didn't get any new church clothes but he did get new shoes!  wahoo new shoes!  Yeah, he didn't really care either.

 It was a great day!

Take A Hike!

Last Saturday Spring was in the air and we were getting the itch go outside and play.  I really wanted to go for a hike but figured there was still too much snow in the mountains.  So we decided we would go to Ensign Peak.  That is where Brigham Young proclaimed "This is the Place!".  It is a fairly short hike and not too steep.  (Not too steep that is unless you haven't hiked in forever and 200 ft in my calves were already burning!)  We all had a ton of fun and the view was amazing!  Of course I brought my camera and took some fun shots!

Moo's Birthday

My sweet Moo had her 9th birthday last week.  We didn't do a party with friends this year but we did have a family party.

For her birthday dinner she wanted homemade pizza mmmmmm yummy!

After we were all stuffed with pizza she opened some presents

She got a weaving loom that I remember having when I was her age.  Here I was showing her how to weave the bands.

And of course we sang Happy Birthday and then had some cake & ice cream.

Happy Birthday Moo!

Green Eggs & Ham

On St. Patrick's Day we had our traditional meal of Green Eggs and Ham.  The kids love it and Paul tries really hard not to get sick.  There is something about eating green ham that your head tells you that you really shouldn't be eating this.  It was a lot of fun and really pretty tasty too!

I do like them in a box.
I do like them with a fox.
I do like them in a house.
I do like them with a mouse.
I do like them here or there.
I do like them anywhere.
I do like green eggs and ham.
I do like them, Sam I am.

NEW BLOG!!

I am so excited!

Are you excited?

Because I sure am!

Would you like to know why I am excited?

BECAUSE I AM STARTING A NEW BLOG!!!!!

The reason I am starting this blog is because I love following blogs and mostly craft blogs.  I wanted a place I could show off all of the things I have recreated from other blogs and feature my own crafty items.  When ever I blog-lift (a term I just made up for when I borrow from someone else's blog) I will always give them initial credit for the project but also show how my version turned out.

I have lots of plans so it might take me a bit to get everything just how I want it, but I think it will be lots of fun.

So  are you excited?

Because I sure am!

Come take a look around at The Crafty Blog Stalker and to really make my day become a follower!

Crafty Weekend

Last weekend hubby left me to go on a guys golfing trip to St. George.  Honestly I was a little excited to have the whole weekend to myself because that meant I could craft!!  I had lots of projects planned out and I accomplished most of them.

First off I am a total blog stalker and when I found this tutorial I had to give it a try.  It was actually really easy and I thought it turned out cute.  I made this headband out of one of my daughter's old shirts.  Isn't it cute!!

I found this tutorial and absolutely fell in love with the felt flowers.  They were really easy to make and really cheap.  You could make 3 flowers out of 1 $.25 sheet of felt.  I put the dark red one on a hair clip but I am still trying to decide what to do with the others.  I actually made a pink one as well but I think one of daughters carried it off because I can't find it anywhere  :)

I have been wanting to try out some Modge Podge for a very long time.  I have actually never used the stuff before but I had seen lots of cool projects using it and figured it was time.  So I started out easy and made some clothespin magnets.  Modge Podge was very easy to use and I thought my magnets turned out great!  Although I am going to confess that I made six magnets but didn't realize that the magnet had to be glue on a certain way for the magnet to be facing out so the other 3 don't stick to the fridge - they just slide right off.  Well I now I know better for next time! (Plus notice the spelling test that my sweet Allie got 100% on PLUS the bonus word.  Go Allie!!)

The majority of my time was spent finishing up my Project 365 scrapbook.  I finally have all of the pictures in layouts I just need to finish the indexing in the back of the book and I will be all finished.  I have really enjoyed this project and I am excited to show off the finished project.

I did try my hand at another blog tutorial here but it did not turn out cute at all so I didn't take any pictures.  But I think I know what I did wrong so I am going to take another crack at it another time.  So keep an eye out for it.  Hopefully I can make it as cute as the one shown in the tutorial.  I think that one is just sooooo cute!

So I think my weekend was a huge success.  When my husband got home on Saturday the house was far from clean but I had lots of finished projects to show off!  So honey when is the next golf weekend??

Painting

A couple weekends ago the family loaded into the burb and we took a little road trip to Grandma Adams'.  She wanted to paint her laundry room since she just got it retiled.  The laundry room looked very strange all empty but it quickly filled up with bodies that were painting.

It took most of the day but we got it done.  Now Grandma has a pretty new laundry room!
