My Grandma's House

A couple weeks ago we had a girls crafting weekend at my Grandma's house.  It was a great weekend and I posted our sewing/quilting projects on my other blog The Crafty Blog Stalker. My Mom grew up in this house and I have lots of good memories of this house as well.  It was always so much fun to come to Grandma's house and play pool in her basement.

So if you know me you know that I love to take pictures.  I have never taken a class but I would really want to.  So in the mean time I just play.  Some good friends of ours wanted some pictures for their adoption profile page and I accepted the challenge with the warning that I am not a professional, but if I took enough pictures we should get lucky and get some good shots.  Well I must say that I am pretty excited about how they turned out.  These are my favorites!

First Day of School

So I know the first day of school was over a month ago but I still had to post the first day of school pictures.  I can't believe how much they grow up every year.

Cam is in the 5th Grade

Morgan is in the 4th Grade

Allie is in 3rd Grade

Liza is in 1st Grade

And while I love my kids oodles this was my favorite part of the whole day!!

First 5k

Man, I am really behind on my blogging!   I am going to try really hard to get all caught up!

The beginning of August I ran my first 5K.  I was so nervous but really kind of excited too.  I had been working on the 9 week Couch to 5K program and was on about week 7.  I ran with my sister Tracy and brother-in-law Tyler.  They have both been running for several years.  My goal was not not be last, and be under 45 minutes.

and me, I FINISHED!  I wasn't last and I beat my goal by 7 minutes!!

During the race I was asking myself what had I gotten myself into, but when I was finished I was so proud of myself for what I had accomplished.

Next race, a 10K

Allie is 8!

My sweet Allie has turned 8 yrs old!

This year she got to have a birthday party with friends!  It was lots of fun!  We decorated Candy bags

 Played pin the the tail on the donkey

Played musical chairs

Smashed a pinata

Opened presents

And of course had (cup)cakes and ice cream

I think it was a pretty good party!
